Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Car Talk

I admit to being anthropomorphic about my car, assigning it a consciousness and feelings. But it's just a 13 year old Nissan Sentra that has got me back and forth across the country twice, nothing fancy. It plays tricks. Like at the end of my first trip. I was wondering whether I should have saved my money and not sprung for the AAA "Premier" membership, which up to then had gone unused. Only three hours from home I pulled into a rest area on the freeway and discovered a flat tire. My car was letting me know I was right to have the card, but just so I wasn't too discomforted, it deposited me smack in front of a pay phone.

hahaha L-O-V-E this cartoon!

John... fate is nothing if not merciful! The provision of a pay phone at the precise moment we need one is not an easy outcome to achieve (even for the universe) LOL

Can really relate to the car as more than just a mode of transport. My mother's vehicle registration was DSA so her little Ford Festiva naturally became dear sweet Alice... and so she was until the day we reluctantly had to let her go (the car not my mother!) to that good old car yard in the sky when my mother had no longer any earthly use for her. She was a sweet girl. LOL

Thanks, Jean.

That's a great story about Alice. I can totally relate. Indeed, I'm so far over the edge that as I read about her I felt a real twinge of emotion when she departed. Before the Nissan I had an old Mercedes. She got wrecked while parked, and I felt terrible the first time my Nissan came to live with me. I couldn't help but feel bad about the Merc leaving the garage one day without knowing she'd never come back. BTW, I call the Nissan "Car Car."

My response went into cyberspace so I give up. More than two sentences will not publish.

Lee! You need a Mac! Know how frustrating it can be when technology has a belligerent mind of it's own!
