Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey
I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. My daughter pointed out, rather aptly, how ironic it is that he will make a far greater comeback in death than he could have otherwise planned in life. Sad that so many can't appreciate what we have until it's gone. And we are all gone too soon.
It seems that MJ will not have peace in either life or death. After 3 days of hysteria, I, for one, would like to see his death off the front page. Enough is enough.
We are all diminished by any person's death but the brave young students of Iran who have died in the last 3 days did not merit this hysteria. I feel that MJ was never given a chance in life, now his death is being milked by the media as well.
Jean and Lee, the terrible sadness of MJ's life and death was encapsulated by the clip I saw of his father being interviewed on the red carpet at the BET awards. Asked how he and the family were, he answered, "We've lost the greatest star in the world." Not we've lost a beloved son and brother and father and friend, but the greatest star in the world.
John C., did not see that but what a terrible statement from a father. No wonder MJ was such a mixed up mess. Now his children will suffer the same fate from this horrid man. Their only hope will be if they have not inherited MJ's talent.
