Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Owie

Bobby Thompson died the other day. My mind flashed back to that October day in 1951 when I raced home from school and turned on the radio to catch the last moments of the Dodger-Giants pennant playoff game. Just in time to hear the play-by-play announcer excitedly describe Thompson hitting the home run off pitcher Ralph Branca that won the game and the National League pennant for the Giants. I collapsed on the kitchen floor in tears, grieving for my beloved Brooklyn Dodgers. It was one of those tumultuous, earth-shattering events when you always remember where you were.

Thanks, Jean. Sorry Lee doesn't like it, but hey, I can certainly understand. It is pretty creepy.
