I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. I would not mind the rejection slips quite as much if they were not form letters. A gentle little note telling me what a terrific painter I am would go a long ways to soothing the ego. The last sentence of "take your work else" would not stab so badly then, says I, grinning.
Agree about the freeway traffic for sure!!!
