The Office of Homeland Insecurity
I've long since given up getting emotionally involved in poltical shenanigans, and have settled on a role as observer. We live in a fascinating time of turmoil and upheaval. This is true of all periods throughout history, but some periods, such as the fall of Rome and the French Revolution are turning points, and this is one of them. So it's as observer that I wonder what to make of yesterday's news. On the one hand we have a report from the government that Al Qaeda is getting stronger, while the head of Homeland Security is telling us he has a "gut feeling" that the chance of an imminent Al Qaeda attack on U.S. soil is high. On the other hand we have the president telling us that we're winning the war against Al Qaeda and terrorism. Huh?

John... believe no-one... and please ensure that your seatbelt (and helmet) are securely fastened and that your tray table is in the upright position... I fear we haven't seen anything yet.
I watched a documentary last night entitled Hitler and the War on America. It was fascinating (and horrifying) to witness the extent of one man's insane quest to dominate the world before "his world" was dominated. He firmly believed that America was a threat to the world and managed to convince his country to the point where a vast underground facility was built to house the America Bomb which was to deliver the final deathly blow to New York from across the Atlantic. (Sound vaguely familiar?) Fortunately it never got off the ground. As I watched the film footage... it occurred to me that the world has seen far greater strife before... and we have come through it. The enemy is different now... (with the politics far more confusing)... but no less frightening.
Nowdays... with the media fuelled propoganda machine in full swing... no-one can be entirely sure who the enemy really is. There is definitely always more to it than meets the eye.
John C., just when I think these cartoons can not get any better, you hit a new high. Very, very impressive and absolutely rolling on the floor funny. Love this one. Now have so many favorites that I can not keep count.
What is not surprising is the double talk from both sides. Personally, I am tired of all of them. Only ones involved in this situation that I respect are the brave young soldiers of our country who are being used as pawns in the game of politics.
this cartoon is great john,roger
