Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. The Unkindest Cut

Today is National Homeless Day, the day we all stop for a moment to recognize the immense contributions homeless people have made to our nation. Pres. Bush is scheduled to honor the Homeless Person of the Year in a rose garden ceremony today, complete with a strawberry ripple toast. When it was pointed out to the president's spokesperson that the weather was expected to be bitter cold and everyone will be shivering, she replied, "what could be more perfect?"

anyone with the ingenuity and talent to be the first and best at something not so important, will no doubt, given the correct set of circumstances, be the first and best at something that really matters.

Well, I really wasn't referring to you. What would someone like you have to hope for? You already have seen so much, accomplished so much. What else could you possibly want?

Il professore is correct. House two doors down from me in my neighborhood +1 1/2 million price tag and on it's way to foreclosure and failure to pay the taxes.

Me? I am the poor side of neighborhood. But it is scary, could happen to any one of us.

It couldn't happen to me. I own my house free and clear. This is a wonderful cartoon and comment John! I would love to see you again. Any chance you could stop by on your trip east? roger

Back in the late 80's we had 2 freezing winters that killed most of the orange groves in Central Florida. Disney was creating Orlando into a tourist destination, so rather that replant orange groves, many gated million dollar Plus home developments were built. We were surprised to learn that most of those homes were bought on speculation and people living in them had only kitchen and bedroom furniture. They could not afford to furnish the rest of the house. I often wonder if those are the houses that are being foreclosed on. Katherine
