Going Going Green
The U.S. government has announced it is facing a major budget shortfall when it comes to building and repairing roads. The problem is that the money comes from gasoline taxes, and with the prices so high people are driving less and spending less on fuel. So if we want decent roads we have to drive more and therefore consume more oil, which of course contributes to the crisis in global harming. We've all known about the growing problem for years. So my question is, what makes us think our leaders can fight a war or protect us from terrorists when they've bungled everything else so thoroughly?

And while we’re at it, why is it that when there’s no money left to repair our own roads there’s always money to bomb somebody else’s country and then to rebuild it –-roads included-- as long as the no-bid rebuilding contract goes to a company once run by the Vice President?
And while I’m at it, how long does it take for the vox populi of the land to catch on that they are being ripped off in a manner unprecedented in the history of their country? Anyone out there got an answer?
My suggestion is to rent "the Mouse that Roar" and view it again. It contains the all the answers. Nothing new under the sun.
Love Jeremy, he never fails to make me laugh. (Just glad that I am not his mother, grin)
PS Wonder if we could declare war on Monday against ourselves, lose on Tuesday and apply for aid on Wed. Nah, never happen. Some congressman or senator would get into the act, for sure. Would demand a congressional hearing.
