Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey
I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. MY favorite O. Wilde comment is " I can resist anything but temptation" roger
I rather like his line of thought! LOL
John... crocs are in the news here again after a Brisbane man was taken two weeks ago from the banks of the Endeavour River near Cooktown. We're going to see more of this I fear. Their numbers are reaching plague proportions (even in relatively urban areas) and a controlled cull should really be re-introduced. But green groups say no. The skins make very nice handbags and shoes... though I would never own one... (nor eat one as the tourists do) LOL
Jean, I've had crocodile in Africa fixed a couple different ways, breaded and fried, and with a cocktail sauce. It's the most bland meat imaginable. When I was rafting in Africa we were told that if the raft turned over we should get out of the river as fast as we could. It's when I realized we're part of the food chain, and not necessarily the top.
Every time I read of hear about crocodiles, I think of the play Peter Pan. Would not want to meet one in the flesh however as somehow I do not think they would wax sympathetic in return. We have the same problem over here with the green groups, Jean, who insist that no maintenance be done in the forest area here, so we burn each year and lives are lost. They never learn that if we maintained our forests here as they do in Germany, we could have the best of both worlds.
Like this cartoon, John C.
PS. Oscar Wilde, one of my favorite authors and playwrights.
