Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey
I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Ok, do not play an instrument so can not figure out what is happening. Think he is playing a flute? Do like the composition in this drawing.
I know, I know, you do not explain your cartoons but after staring at this for 10 minutes, blowing it up full size, it still looks as if he is eating it. Alright, now at last I get it, he is playing licorice stick (flute) dud!
Lee, as with other "musical" cartoons of mine (i.e. the chef making soup in a tympanist's kettle drums) I start with an image and go from there. It's not a "licorice stick" but rather a simple flute, but the concept is the same. In retrospect it probably should be a clarinet.
Didn't work visually john. roger
I agree, Roger. I'm going to have to make another go at it.
John the way I read it was the musician was playing ever smaller instruments until all that was left was the handkerchief which he then stuck up his nose? Close? ... or way off? In any case I laughed like hell (((LOL)))
Not quite, Jean. But I totally love your explanation! Way funnier than mine!
