Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Down the Rabbit Hole

Yes, the world has gone nuts. Now the city of Los Angeles will shell out millions of dollars for victory parade for the Lakers. A million bucks for a couple of hours, while teachers are being laid off. I think I'll organize a protest.

John... SOMETHING needs to be done! What complete lunacy. Is there no end to the dumb things people do?

Thanks, Jean. I fear there's nohing to be done. In celebration and madness, the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

When do we get back to the basic idea that helping each other is more important than anything else. This is really crazy. The whole state is going to hell in a hand basket and L A is having a parade. People are dying in the name of freedom elsewhere and we are tossing it out the window for something that is so superficial. Zeesh, when did we lose our balance here in Cal. Hope that the government does not bail us out, then maybe people will wake up once they realize that we, the taxpayers, will have to foot the bill for all the bounty that Ca. offers.

I wonder if the powers that be think that it will be good for public morale? Seems like a lot of money tho for a morale building exercise. I almost hate to say it but maybe we need a natural disaster or two... nothing like it for bringing the hero that resides in all of us out of the woodwork.

Anonymous, the mayor is quoted in today's paper as saying that the city needs this now more than ever. Needs what, I ask? Something only a fraction of the citizens will attend? Those who can afford to take time off work? And feel good about ourselves? Why, for heaven's sake, we didn't do anything. Kobe and company did. And they got paid big bucks to do it. ( And they're not paying for the parade.)
