Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Take Two Aspirins

I remember hearing when I was growing up that "money can buy you everything except your health." Wrong!

Hey, everyone, on Friday I'll be posting my 1000th cartoon. That's one thousand without missing a day.

Congratulations on #1000! I wonder you you could get picked up by a syndicate such as http://www.creators.com/

Cost of health care. It's amazing that the conversation continues to revolve around who pays rather than addressing the underlying cost structure. While there is a bit of competition among health INSURERS, there are no market forces at play with the cost of treatment, including surgery. The price of health insurance will never go down if the cost of what they insure continues to go up. Duh. There's a book by Michael Porter called Redefining Health Care. It should be required reading for Congress. I'm not holding my breath. We'll get some face-saving legislation, and maybe a new layer of bureaucracy, but no meaningful reform. Too many sacred cows? Too many lobbyists?

Pretty impressive. I've been contributing to a blog started by a friend. Having a daily deadline when he's on vacation is a stressful situation.

I really enjoy your work.

Congratulations John! A fine achievement! :-)

Re healthcare. You know... I reckon Michael Moore came closest to a resolution (or at least asking the right questions) in Sicko. At least he looked beyond his own shores for solutions which are already working extremely well elsewhere. Until the powers that be look beyond the end of their nose and put a cap on the exorbitant treatment costs imposed by greedy and unscrupulous service providers there will be no easy solutions. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.
