Three Strikes You're In
I was stopped by the police once, years ago, for no apparent reason. They made me get out of the car and put my hands on the roof. They patted me down. Then they looked in the car and saw a 35mm film cannister. "What's that for?" one of the cops snarled, like he already knew what my "crime" was. "It's for film," I answered. Grinning like the proverbial Cheshire Cat he opened it. Inside there was film. That was one disappointed cop.

I haven't seen a 35mm canister in a while. Digital cameras have been around for 10 years, so there will soon come a day when someone the age of a rookie cop will have no idea what a 35mm film canister is - or what film is for that matter. It's remarkably common to hear people use the terms tape and film interchangeably. I've even heard people saying they were taping (as opposed to recording) when using flash memory. But I guess that's how language evolves. It is no weirder than saying that you are "dialing" a number with a push-button phone.
Yeah... it's like we've got a cog stuck somewhere (grin) funny how we still refer to the video store when in fact they now stock dvd's. We're a quaint lot we human beans LOL
John... you have to wonder what the real criminals are getting away with while the police are apprehending innocent people. So glad you escaped unscathed. And I hope he bought you a new roll of film.
Funny thing, Jean, it was an empty cannister. Funny, isn't it, Andrew, that nobody ever says they're going to "see and hear" a movie, we only see them.
