Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Spare the Rod

"I have a problem," said the patient. "I keep having this dream that I'm fabulously wealthy, with a gorgeous wife, a huge yacht, my own private jet, and a waterfront mansion in Palm Beach." "So what's the problem?" the therapist asked. "I keep waking up."

I love it that Jeremy never says anything... and viewers always have the sense that we have just walked into the room and into the conversation after the fact. Our understanding always comes from the parents rebuke which I think is interesting... and compelling. Jeremy just has to sit there looking defiant... guilty... repentant [or not]... depending on the circumstance!

Jeremy is looking more like an approaching teenager and his parents have definitely aged since coming on the scene. (grin) This is a great one, John C. Love it.

PS. Agree with Jean, most ingenious how you get the point across.

Thanks, Jean and Lee. Yes, Lee, I noticed too that he seems to be growing up. But perhaps it's because we usually don't see him manifesting quite that much emotion, and perhaps it's somewhat more complex than we're accustomed to. I may have to accept the fact that he is who and what he is, out of my control.

Jean, I love that you picked up on the fact that Jeremy never speaks. That's been a conscious choice from the beginning. I've always felt that the viewer (reader?) should provide his "voice."
