Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Go Figure!

There are probably as many how-to books about art as about cooking, but here's a new twist altogether, Andrew Cahner's book about how to be a nude model, The Art Model's Handbook. One would think there's not much to it, just strip and hold still, but anyone who's spent countless hours drawing nude models knows different. It's hard work, folks, "doing nothing."

Really funny cartoon John (((chuckles)))

Odd choice of subject for a (hand)book... but seeing as it's figure drawing! LOL

PS You are so right about modelling for artists being hard work. It's not everyone who can "do nothing" with elegance and grace!

John: Thanks for mentioning my book!

Jean: Good point about the irony of a "hand" book for figure models. I was thinking there should be a companion volume called The Hand Model's Art Book. ;-)
