Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Fair's Fair

In my experience coaching young boys I've found them to be very much like network executives. Individually they may be highly intelligent, discerning, and creative, but put them together in a group and suddenly they dumb down.

Very interesting observation. It's counter-intuitive. One would think two (3,4,..) heads are better than one.

To avoid conflict, or to avoid appearing stupid or uncool, the lowest common denominator may prevail.

The leadership of an organization can foster a culture of innovative ideas or a culture of insecurity. But it has to be genuine. Many organizations talk the talk in hollow mission statements, but don't walk the walk.

Okay... does anyone have a Romanian translator?

Just for fun... and because I am incurable curious as most of you know... I'm going to have a bash at it...

Cioara says:

"This is an interesting subject you have posted this time. I am reading this blog from a faraway place. Your blog name prompted my visit. Have a nice day!"

Hmmm... how do you reckon I scored as an aussie on a US blog site reading Romanian? Okay... I can handle 1 out of 10.

Apologies John... couldn't help myself. Have just responded to your excellent comment over on my blog... and my brain cells are now going into light relief after responding. You certainly keep me on my toes intellectually... which is a good thing... or I might slide down the slippery slope into mediocrity and perhaps yes... even sheer and utter madness.

Thanks for that! (((LOL)))

You, Jean? Mediocre? Not going to happen, not ever, no way. (I have some thoughts about the art of conversation, but one of these days I'll backchannel them to you.)

Translating Roumanian? You never stop amazing me.

Well, of course it's about something you said, Jean -- or more accurately, about everything you've said -- meant in the best most complimentary way possible.

Wait a minute!! Andrew mentions, "two (3,4,..) heads are better than one." For this to happen, they must all have their focus on the same thing. That is why they dumb down together, because they aren't on the same subject. So however many heads are better than one! Just that they all have the same mentality.
