Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. I Heart You

Environmental Concern Div. of The Fool's Journey, Inc.: This card is available as a greeting card, to send to your loved ones who share your sorrow that the pusillanimous U.S. Congress has backed away from climate change legislation because whatever they do to save the planet will be harmful to the economy. Yup, it's nuts, I agree. I pledge half of whatever income I get from this card to the cause. Spread the word.

Yep. The world has gone nuts is exactly what I was going to say after your last post. Now it's official. LOL Just wish they'd stop calling it climate change so we could all get on with the real job of saving the planet [from ourselves]. It seems so simple. So why isn't it?

PS Love the green heart John. That's so ecologically cool! LOL

Great cartoon, John C. 14 million + unemployed who could be paid small amt while training, workable gov. grants to homeowners for solar energy, natural gas auto or one that run on waste paper might solve a lot of the problems. If you have to plug in an electric car to a socket, aren't you using energy that runs on coal or don't I understand the logic?

Nothing says "be my eco-valentine" like a heart-shaped box of green chocolates and dinner for two -- green eggs and ham, of course.

Lee - I share your doubts about the environmental benefits of plug-in anything. Most of our electricity does come from burning coal, which doesn't seem any more eco-friendly than burning gasoline.

However, coal and natural gas do offer energy independence since they are domestically abundant (for now). Energy independence seems like a far more effective national security (and economic stability) strategy than chasing the Taliban in Afghanistan.

I think we live a world with an MTV attention span, where soundbites are preferred to substantive discussion.

Thanks, Jean and Lee!

My term for it, Jean, is global harming.

The problem, Lee, isn't a dearth of solutions, but rather denial, the tragic head-in-the-sand refusal to recognize that action must be taken.
