Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Win, Lose, or Draw

An obituary in today's LA Times reports the death of Dan Resin, the actor who portrayed the Ty-D-Bowl man in TV ads, sailing off in a motorboat across the blue waters of a toilet dressed as a sea captain. A lifetime of credits in film and Broadway, and this is how he's remembered.

what can I say, John C. except that life is often a joke upon oneself. Thanks to God and St. Jude both of whom finally got tired of me nagging and moaning, I have received a modification that places me back to my original loan after being diddled by a mortgage co. and thinking that I would be a bag lady in 2012. This time I do not have chemo brain and am aware of what I am signing. So tonight I will get a good night's sleep after 3 years of trying to get someone to listen to me about the scam that was played upon me. I owe gratitude to God and St. Jude so I am acknowledging it in every way that I can. This has nothing to do with your excellent cartoon but just wanted to voice my gratitude to God and St. Jude for saving my home for me. I did not ask for a bail out, only asked that I pay what I actually owe. So if there are people out there facing what I faced, say a novena to St. Jude and God as it works even if it takes 3 years. Tonight I am one happy and content camper. Sorry to intrude on your time, John C.

You are not intruding, Lee, not in any way, shape, or form. I am overjoyed that you feel comfortable sharing your relief here. I don't know the details, but I can hear and feel the lifted heart. I pray that all your days from now on are filled with nothing but light and joy!

Lee this is music to my ears also. When the load is lightened [somewhere] it relieves the pressure elsewhere! So thanks for sharing your joy... I too felt the lightness in your voice... and I shall sleep well tonight with your victory in mind. Great news - go you :-)
