Fair's Fair and Fowl's Fowl
The most enjoyable aspect of Hillary's win over Obama last night in New Hampshire had to be watching the pundits fall all over themselves in attampting to explain away their breathless hyperbole of the past few days as they all but nominated Obama the next Democratic presidential candidate. The downside is that this won't shut them up. Onward to Super Duper Tuesday on February 5 means more vacuous bloviating. Meanwhile, I'm thinking that after 16 years it might be nice to have a president older than I am, but please don't let it be John McCain. How about Clint Eastwood?

Hey, give our pundits a break. They have to eat like the rest of us! If politicians can flip-flop from one state to the next, say what they think the electorate wants them to say, why can’t the poor guy who predicted that Obama would win in NH by double digits just pretend he never said it and now predict Hillary’ll win the presidency of the United States by a landslide. In the event she loses to Obama in South Carolina, by then everyone will have forgotten his last prediction. The memory of the television audience is as short
as the end of a stick. Who remembers who won the Oscar for the best supporting actress three days after the event?
Eastwood, huh? Now that would make my day...
Scarey stuff how the media can sway... and make no mistake... the bored out of it's brain audience... (as John points out... more than content to sit for hours on end staring at glittery tinsel bright lights and loud noise)... will probably only remember what crosses their consciousness on the very last day. My money's on whoever gets the best wrap on that day! That's pretty much what happened here.
Oh... and I meant to say that's one very funny cartoon John! LOL
Great cartoon, John.
Every one seems to want to be in the "middle of the road" now. I used to attend many political speeches and only the next day see the local paper quote segments "out of context" so that they gave a different meaning to the words. Amazing what writers can do. kat
The middle of the road is never a wise place to be... but sitting on the fence... now that's another matter! LOL
This is getting to be better than a soap opera (grin). Will she, won't she, does he, doesn't he? After hearing Obama's speech last evening, yes, I am one of those who watch and listen to the speeches with glazed eyes; I must say that I was impressed with Obama's dignity. If he only had a few more years of experience (big sigh).
Love these chicken cartoons, John C.
One of the more bizarre theories the pundits are now proffering to explain Hillary’s unexpected surge is that the moment when the Democratic candidate broke down and tried to hold back tears the older women of New Hampshire, previously uncommitted, instantly got off their … sofas and rushed to the polls to vote. According to ours pundits this was the first time the otherwise steely Mrs. Clinton showed us that she was vulnerable. If this is true, expect Guliani to start weeping about how the nuns mistreated him in parochial school, Obama to moan about what it’s like to only be half black and Romney to cry out about being too rich.
Oh gosh I hope not! LOL
But it does go to show that people are looking for someone who is "real" a hard call in this day and age it would seem... esp. in politics.
