Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. Obamarama

It wasn't that long ago that the pundits were all calling him a long shot. Then he became a contender, though still with an outside chance at best. Pretty soon the media bloviators were proclaiming him the front runner, calling him inspirational, a breath of fresh air, a symbol of a new America. Next thing you know he was all but anointed, and then suddenly they were yammering about his lack of substance. With the nomination in sight, they're now blabbering away about his supposed ties to a Chicago "crook." Poor Obama. There have to be times he just wants to stay home and play with the kids.

I am very puzzled as to why politicians think the red phone would ring at the White House at three o’clock in the morning. If you check the time differences between us and our enemies, it is more likely that an attack would occur sometime around breakfast time when our leader would either be in the nook or exercising in the gym. Obama is right when he calls this “fear-mongering.” As FDR said “all we have to fear is fear itself.” A much more effective campaign, in my opinion, would be to show the president alone in a deserted house with someone like Freddie Kreuger hiding behind the shower curtain. I think Hillary would probably scream and Obama make a speech to scare him off.

Can not say what is funnier, the back and forth of the two of you or initial comments from both of you. Cartoons are, of course, still the funniest of all. These last few starting with the latest Jeremy have hit a new high, congratulation, John C.

As an old Chicagoan I believe that everyone active in that city's politics would have " some connection" with a "criminal" The city has been described as a congerie of villages united by graft. But, it works and it works better than most cities. roger

Lee, our genial host, John, has one of the sharpest minds and pens to be found. I am delighted to have this opportunity to play verbal ping-pong with him. If on occasion my balls hit the net, please forgive me.

Thank you, prof. I fear I may have the record around here for my balls hitting the net, especially when I try to jump over it.
