The Battle of the Sexes

When it comes to matters of sex, I know of nobody better to whom one should cede the podium than Plato. The philosopher wrote in The Republic in the 6th century B.C., "....is there any greater or keener pleasure than physical love? No, nor any which is more unreasonable." It would be another two thousand years before Shakespeare observed: "Is it not strange that desire should so many years outlive performance?" (Henry IV, Part II)
