I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies.

Hands Out For Hand-Outs
Okay, now it appears the government is going to hand out cash for old household appliances. What frosts me is that the government also mandated old television sets into obsolesence. Not only did they not give us the opportunity to turn them in for cash, you might have to pay to have them disposed of. I have two sitting by my back door if anyone wants them.

Has US gone digital already? We have the option of purchasing set top boxes here for older analogue televisions. Are things improving there at all or is recovery still a way off yet?
PS love the Citroens!
Jean, we went digital in June after the government delayed it several months beyond the original date. Here too the little boxes were an option. As far as recovery, the "economists," who in my opinion are for the most part lackeys of the establishment, are saying we're beginning to turn the corner, but I don't believe it for a second. It's all part of this idiotic notion that economic health depends on separating the fools from their money, which is only possible when people are confident enough that the economy is strong that they're willing to max out their plastic again.
