Gas Guzzler
On this date in 1908, 101 years ago, Henry Ford introduced the Model T, known as the Tin Lizzie. With the introduction of the assembly line the world began the slide toward insanity. Ever-increasing production meant the development of expanded markets, which led to built-in obsolescence, the cancer that is mass advertising, and the deadly credit industry. We haven't reached critical mass yet, but the collapse is sure to come.

Your cartoon is not as absurd as it might seem. Considering most electricity comes from coal, zero-emission plug-in electric vehicles are really coal burning vehicles indirectly. But fear not. It's clean coal. ;-)
When I was a kid, Andrew, we had a coal burning furnace. At regular intervals a truck came and dumped a load of the stuff through our basement window. Trust me, coal ain't clean. [grin]
Love your avatar!
What next, John C?
Built in obsolescence is where the unconscionable began and integrity finally walked out the door. Quantity over quality is the new global mantra. Now you can't even buy a bobby pin that will work for more than one wear.
