Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. HAPPY EASTER

I read recently of a high school in Amarillo that has an amazing art collection, built up over the years through donations. The paintings hang in the corridors, where students live with them every day. A few years ago, a boiler exploded on a Sunday and the building was swept with flames. Students raced to the school and saved the paintings. The story makes me tear up with joy, and weep with sadness that art is so far down on the academic radar nowadays.

I love this cartoon. As an avid bucker of rules and systems generally... esp. those perniciously conceived to stifle creative enterprise... this cartoon strikes a defiant chord. Good one John!
