Cartoons, cartoons, cartoons.... John Crowther's Cartoon Odyssey

I think of it as The Fool's Journey. I've been asked who the "fool" is. It's me, but in the classical sense of the court jester. Only the fool was allowed to tell the king of his follies. All cartoons are available as prints or originals, framed or unframed, through my website or e-mail. It's My Story And I'm Sticking To It

My friend the novelist, Nicholas Delbanco, once said that fiction is the truth passed off as invention, and non-fiction is invention passed off as the truth. In any case, I'm going to go right ahead, despite my objections, and write my own unauthorized autobiography.

This cartoon is so reflective of many couples I know.
Why do so many sensitive, artistic men choose to lock down forever with women who are battle axes: pushy, aggressive, without any sense of the aesthetics, and twice the man's size? One would think that the kind of man who appreciates beauty; the kind of man who CREATES beauty would find a like-minded woman.
I think many of these men are too involved in their art to want to have to deal with the realities of everyday life, so they find a woman who will handle it all, so the man can be free to create.

John... will it be art imitating life then... or life imitating art? Either way no doubt it'll be a very good read!

I agree with Kate... how often it is that good looking men settle for someone who could pass for their mother... (maybe that's it?!)

true dat!
Electra complexes aside, maybe some of the men who visit here could enlighten us.
(And John, since you are married to a beautiful Italian actress, you don't count!)
